This year’s General Assembly will be in less than a week! During the weekend we offer two special events, the Belarus event and the celebration of BCWT 30 years, see info below.
Warmly welcome!
“Writers from Belarus at the Almedalen Library!
Hanna Jankuta, Barys Pyatrovich, Dmitry Strotsev are coming to Visby to read their poetry at the Almedalen Library.
They will also participate in a round table discussion on freedom of expression and literature in Belarus. The authors are invited by Baltic Writers’ Council in cooperation with Baltic Centre for Writers and Translators, and the discussion will take place in connection with Council’s general assembly.
The Baltic Writers’ Council is an association of 21 writers’ and translators’ organisations in the Baltic Sea countries and Nordic region, and has its home in Visby at the Baltic Centre for Writers and Translators.
Moreover, the Baltic Centre for Writers and Translators celebrates 30 years with a public round table discussion about power of literature, “a room of one’s own”, worrying times, freedom of expression, cultural diplomacy and BCWT’s role and place in the midst of all that.
Plenty of the Baltic Sea!”
